Oak:
Individual components were matured in a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak for 22 months to add further layers of complexity. The wine was blended just prior to bottling in March 2010.
Nose:
Intense lifted cassis layered with underlying notes of freshly ground coffee, dark chocolate and eucalypt, with hints of mint, complex cigar box and cedary oak.
Palate:
Rich opulent flavours of blackcurrant, brambles and plums are impeccably balanced with complex oak and bottle-age nuances of tobacco, cedar and savoury spice. Smooth, fine-grained tannins, a seamless texture, balanced acidity and persistent flavours come together in a wine of great presence and distinction.
