Pierre Usseglio ‘Premier Pierre’ Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2022

Founded in 1948 by Francis Usseglio after his move from Italy to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine Pierre Usseglio has become one of the appellation’s most respected family estates. Today, Jean-Pierre and Thierry Usseglio continue the family’s commitment to producing wines that combine concentration, authenticity and a strong sense of place.

The official 2022 blend is led by 75% Grenache, supported by Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and a small amount of Clairette Blanche. Fruit is hand harvested, with approximately 60% destemmed, before fermentation and maceration lasting between 25 and 35 days. Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks, followed by élevage in a combination of concrete and large oak vessels designed to preserve freshness and vineyard character.
