Mount Majura Mencia

Mencia has only been cultivated in this country since 2011, with the first plantings taking hold in McLaren Vale, South Australia. Native to the Iberian Peninsula, Mencía historically seems to perform best in mild continental climates where there are relatively warm days and cool nights, hence its suitability to our Canberra District climate. The variety naturally contains high levels of aroma compounds called terpenoids, which translate to its alluring floral and red fruit fragrance. Firm but joyous tannins frame the palate with a juicy crunch of natural acidity to finish. First vintage, 2025.
