Domaine Armand Rousseau “Clos de la Roche” Grand Cru 2018
Clos de la Roche sits at the northern boundary of the village of Morey-Saint-Denis and directly borders the Grand Crus of Gevrey-Chambertine. Domaine Armand Rousseau owns a little more than 3.5 acres of the 33 total acres under vine. Though just a stones throw from Chambertin this Grand Cru sits with a more southern exposure and mineral laiden soil, producing wines of great concentration and purity, typically maturing sooner than it’s neighbors to the north.
Clos de la Roche, located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, is renowned for producing powerful yet elegant Pinot Noir wines that combine intense aromas with refined structure. The 2018 vintage is particularly notable for its balance and concentration, benefiting from ideal weather conditions that allowed for optimal ripening. This wine showcases the pure expression of the terroir, marked by vibrant red and dark berry fruits, subtle earthy undertones, and delicate spice nuances.
