In early 1988 it was decided to produce a Sparkling Burgundy style wine. Historically Shiraz has been the variety used in the early Australian wines but when they were selecting the base, they found that by adding some Durif, it added extra richness to the flavour. Also we chose from a range of vintages, the older wines impart soft and mature flavours while the younger wines are used to provide the fruit lift.

Nose:
The colour is medium to deep crimson with red hues, with rich and earthy aromas of ripe fruit and spice.
Palate:
There is a full flavoured palate of dark fruits, chocolate and savoury influences balanced by soft tannins.
