A wine created by Giovanni Manetti, the man behind the famous Tuscan estate Fontodi. Lamole is a high altitude vineyard above the Panzano (620 metres above sea level) planted in the 1920's. This high altitude vineyard creates scented, elegant almost Pinot Noir like wines that spend time in larger oak as opposed to the smaller barriques used at Fontodi.
Cuttings from this Lamole vineyard were used to propagate the clones used to replant the Fontodi vineyards.

Made solely from Sangiovese, it has a lovely colour, with Pinot-like clarity in both the glass and on the nose, with a lifted dark cherry fragrance yielding to intense yet elegant fruit on the palate, all nicely supported by fine, grainy tannins.
