Wolf Blass Platinum Label Shiraz 2009

Platinum Label Shiraz was first created from the 1998 vintage to honour Australia’s most iconic grape variety, Shiraz, and the region Wolf Blass call their home, the Barossa. This marriage of region and variety is one of long-standing excellence, so Wolf Blass set out to create the ultimate wine to express both region and variety, capturing the very essence of Barossa Shiraz.

The Medlands Estate, Barossa Valley enjoys a unique terroir, growing wines with purity of fruit, elegance, tight structure and impeccable balance. The vineyard slopes gently towards the North Para River at an altitude of about 260m above sea level, with soils ranging from loamy sands over light clays to sandy loams over medium clays. The climate is Continental, with a wide daily temperature fluctuation, good sunshine and light, and low rainfall and humidity.
