Grant Burge Shadrach 2013
Grant Burge is a fifth-generation Barossa vigneron and winemaker. The history of the Burge family and their long association with winemaking in the region can be traced back to March 1855, when noted tailor John Burge immigrated to the Barossa from Hillcot, near Pewsey in Wiltshire, England with his wife Eliza and their two sons.
“Cabernet Sauvignon sourced mostly from the Corryton Park vineyard. This 2013 is the current release. Sturdy cabernet with plenty of heft. Generally well balanced. A big, Barossan, tannin-strewn red as much as it is cabernet, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Ferrous qualities, blackberries, gum leaves and choc-mint. Lots of dry, rusty tannin.” – Wine Front
