Domaine Armand Rousseau Clos du Chateau Monopole 2019

"The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos du Château has a very perfumed bouquet of red cherry and strawberry fruit. The palate is tart on the entry with slightly rustic tannins and modest weight. Just a little attenuated on the finish." - Neal Martin, Dec 2020.

"The vineyards of the Château de Gevrey-Chambertin became part of the domain in 2012.  Since then, we have pulled up the vines in some places and replanted them in others to rebalance the age of the vines. We worked extensively on the soil, introducing a mechanical process for aeration and to encourage microorganisms. At the same time, we decided to try a biodynamic process. We have been developing our understanding year on year to get the best results.  We have come a long way, and we are more and more satisfied with the quality of the wines, but this is just the beginning." - Domaine Armand Rousseau.
